9 days Best of Kenya Safari, Samburu, Ol Pejeta, Masai Mara

Arrival day when you fly into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, we meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Nairobi City also known as the City in the sun. Our Safari Manager will be there to meet you at the hotel lounge and have a short safari briefing then leave you to relax for the rest of the day/night. Overnight at Trademark Hotel. Booked on Bed and breakfast.

Early morning breakfast then you will be picked from your hotel in Nairobi and embark on our journey up north. We drive via the beautiful country side of the Mount Kenya Region and via the town of Nyeri, and Naromoru and after about 3.5-4 hours we reach Olpejeta Conservancy just near the Nanyuki town. ON a clear day we will enjoy the sights of the snow capped Mount Kenya. We will have a brief stop at the Equator line for some demonstrations of the proof of the North Pole and South Pole at the Equator point then enter the Olpejeta Conservancy. After registration we head straight to the Sweetwaters Tented Camp where we will check in and have lunch then go for an afternoon game drive in search of among other animals; the rare white rhinos. Later in the afternoon we will drive to the Camp for dinner and overnight at the Sweetwaters Tented Camp. All meals included.

After an early breakfast in the morning we will go for to visit the Chimpanzee Center where we will see the apes and take some pictures as we are lectured by the resident guides. We will then check out and drive further north to the Kenyan Northern Frontier districts via Isiolo town arriving at Samburu Game Reserve in the afternoon. Lunch we take picnic lunch on this day so on arrival we register at the Gate and start on straight the afternoon game drive. We will then check in at the lodge/camp in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp. All meals included.

Early morning game drive if you wish at the Samburu National Reserve then return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast you will go out for a fun-filled day of game drives exploring the Samburu National Reserve and its sister reserve that is Shaba Game Reserve. These national reserves share one border so animals move from one site to the other freely.  You expect to see many animals among them; lions, elephants, hippos, buffaloes but also the rare species like the Grevy’s Zebra, the Gerenuks, the Beisa Oryx, reticulated giraffes as well as rare birds like the Somali Ostrich Dinner and overnight will be at Ashnil Samburu Camp.

After breakfast at your lodge/camp we drive back on the same highway and drive via Nanyuki town and the Mount Kenya slopes town of Naromoru, and Nyeri to Aberdares Mountains National Park. We arrive in perfect time for lunch at Out spans Hotel if staying overnight at Treetops Hotel or Aberdares Country Club if staying at The Ark Hotel. After a sumptuous lunch at the base hotel you will be collected by the hotel 4×4 vehicle for game drives at Aberdares National Park until late afternoon when you will check in at Treetops Hotel or The Ark Hotel for dinner and overnight. From these Tree hotels you can watch animals at the floodlit water holes and salt licks. Dinner and overnight is at The Ark inside Aberdares National Park. All meals included.

Breakfast at the tree lodge in Aberdares then we drive to through the famous Thomson’s falls in Nyahururu and down to the Rift Valleys finest national park; Lake Nakuru National Park. Arrive at mid day and after registration at the gate we drive to the lodge for hot lunch with some game drives on the way. After lunch we head out to the lakeside for wonderful sights of the colorful flamingos and then go for game drives around the park in search of animals like lions, buffalos, impalas, gazelles and the rarest species found here like the white rhinos and the Rothschild’s giraffes. We d game drives till late afternoon when we drive to the lodge or camp for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge inside the park. All meals included.

We leave after breakfast at the lodge or camp for Masai Mara via the Naivasha lakeside town, Mai mahiu and the Masai town of Narok. We will have a brief stop at Mai mahiu to see the hot springs if you wish. We arrive at Masai Mara National reserve in time for lunch at the lodge or Camp and then we go out for an afternoon game drive until late afternoon when we drive back for dinner and overnight. At Masai Mara we also have the option of visiting a Masai Village to learn a bit of the culture and traditions of these nomadic people who have stood the test of time, and wave of westernization to maintain their age old traditions. Overnight at Zebra Plains Mara Camp. All meals included.

This morning you have every reason to go for an early morning game drive if you wish as it gives you the chance to spot the nocturnal predators returning from a hunting night out and see the diurnal ones wake up for a new day. Some even try to avoid the morning dew making it even easier to spot them along the roads. After breakfast at the lodge or camp, you leave again with a lunch box for a full day of game drives out in the Plains of Masai Mara. Lunch will then be served at one of the picnic sites. Alternatively, you may opt to do a morning and afternoon game drive with a break for hot lunch at the lodge or Camp. Masai Mara is where you can see the Wildebeests Migration believed to be the most amazing wildlife spectacle of the world and the new seventh wonder of the world. Depending on your time of visit you may be lucky to witness this amazing natural phenomenon. Dinner and overnight at Zebra Plains Mara Camp. All meals included.

Breakfast at the lodge/camp then we go for the last game drive before we check out of and drive back to Nairobi where the tour ends. Depending on your schedule you may also be dropped at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight back home.

At the end of this tour we if you are flying later in the night we can offer you a complimentary transfer to the fabulous Carnivore Restaurant where you can have dinner and then dropped at the Airport for departure.
