Amboseli National Park is famous for its large herds of elephants and great views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The park is home to many animals including large game like Grant’s zebras, spotted hyenas, Masai giraffe, Cape buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, and blue wildebeests.

Amboseli is also a famous spot for bird watching apart from other lakes in the Rift Valley where you can see flamingos, Amboseli has its fair share of flamingo sightings and if you visit in the right time you will be treated to some nice sights of soaring flamingos. Amboseli National Park has more than 420 bird’s species recorded and walking is allowed in the concession areas outside the park where you can spot a lot of birdlife.

3 days Safari in Amboseli National Park: Detailed itinerary

Day 1

Nairobi - Amboseli National Park

Pick up from your hotel in Nairobi o your pick up point and start on your way south on the Nairobi Mombasa highway to Amboseli via Emali town or access the park via Namanga Gate. We arrive Amboseli in time for hot lunch in the lodge/camp and after lunch we go on our first game drive in Amboseli. With the rooftop of Africa views at the back drop we enjoy game viewing around the park until late afternoon when we drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Amboseli Sopa Lodge or Kibo Safari Camp. Lunch and dinner included.

Day 2

Full day safari at Amboseli National Park.

On this day it is really worthy going out for a sunrise game drive at dawn so as to see the animals in the coolness of African wilderness in the morning. Time to see the hyenas and other predators as they retire from a hunting night out and also the birds singing for a new day seen. We then go back to the lodge or Camp for breakfast then move out for a full day in the Park in search of the wild animals. Apart from the abnormally huge bulls and cows of elephants of Amboseli, we expect to spot other plain games like gerenuks, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests (including the white bearded), warthogs, dik diks and many others. There are plenty of lions and cheetahs and on a lucky day; why not spot the shy leopard in its natural habitat. Apart from the colorful flamingos, Amboseli National Park is blessed with an abundance of many other aquatic and no aquatic birds species alike.

In the afternoon we have also an option to visit a Masai village around the park to learn a little bit of their traditions and cultures and how they have coexisted with wildlife all the way to the modern times. Overnight is at Amboseli Sopa Lodge or Kibo Safari Camp. All meals included.

Day 3

Amboseli – Drive back to Nairobi

After breakfast on day three we check out of the lodge or camp after breakfast and head out of the Park with game viewing on our way out. Drive back to Nairobi or Mombasa for a beach extension.

End of our 3 days Safari in Amboseli National Park in Kenya.

This tour can be done both Starting and ending at Nairobi Kenya or even Mombasa and the Kenya Coast; Malindi, Tiwi , and Diani Beach Hotels.

Depending on your preference you can also do a day of game drives, then drive to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport later in the afternoon if you are flying out in the evening. This will however attract a payment of the prevailing park fees of the day only. We do not charge anything more than the park fees for this day.
