Where to visit, 8 days luxury fly-in Kenya safari

The Shompole Conservancy in the south of the Great Rift Valley is a large privately run conservation area. The Shompole Wilderness Camp is a fully exclusive camp where you will be the only one in the camp hosted by the owners; Johann and Samantha. The Conservation area is located between the Lake Magadi and Lake Natron and therefore you can be sure to see a lot of lesser and greater flamingos. Apart from birdlife you expect to see troops of baboons, lions elephants, giraffes, etc. Day and night game drives are allowed in Shompole, as well as walking safari and at on additional charges why not take a helicopter tour of the area.

8 Days Fly in Kenya Luxury Safari — Touch Down at Masai Mara

The safari also takes you to the Chyullu Hills which is a less visited / off the beaten path wildlife area that borders the Tsavo West and therefore very rich in wildlife with the most amazing panoramas from the hills.

8 Days Kenya Fly in Safari; Detailed Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival and transfer to Nairobi

You will be picked up from the airport by one of our representatives from Safari Desire who will then drive you to Nairobi where you will dine and spend the night

Day 2-3

Explore the Chyulu Hills

You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning and taken to Wilson Airport where you will get a chartered aircraft to Campi ya Kanzi Airstrip. You will then have a flight of about ten minutes to the camp where you will sleep for the next two nights. Campi ya Kanzi can only accommodate 14 people in seven grass-thatched roof guest houses. Every guesthouse provides you with a magnificent but distinct view and is suitable for one or two people. One of these guest houses is called “The Hemingway Suite” and it got its name from a well-known author who wrote about the neighboring Chyulu Hills in his book called “Green Hills of Africa.” They have a King-Size or Twin Bed which are built at the camp with native logs as well as particularly assembled linen from Italy. The guest houses also feature shelves, freshly picked flowers, a colonial trunk, hangers for your clothes, two safari chairs and a table.

Some of the activities that you will take part in are game drives, a community visit to a Maasai Manyatta, and birding plus guided walks. You will spend both nights at Campi ya Kazi – The accommodation is exciting in a thatched-tented cottage on a platform made of wood with a hand basin and a shower.

Day 4-5

Explore the Great Rift Valley.

You will start your day with a game drive and then you will have a late breakfast before getting your charter flight to Shompole Airstrip. You will then have a brief 10 minute drive to the camp you were eagerly waiting for at Shompole Lodge where you will spend both nights. Shompole lodge is an authentic and aesthetic camp that is strategically located to have a breathtaking view as well as a great breeze. It was built to highlight the magnificence of natural materials in addition to running water and even white walls to give a new and unique view of the experience in the wild. Every tented room gives adequate shady oasis in the rather arid surrounding. It provides you with utmost privacy where you can unwind and let loose. Every room is equipped with a dive pool, a bathroom with a view as well as a sitting area. Some of the activities you will take part in are canoeing, river trips, night game drives, evening walks to Lake Natron to see the flamingos.

Day 6-7

Maasai Mara National Park

You will go for a game drive in the morning before you take your charter flight to Masai Mara. You will be picked up by one of our representatives from Bateleur Camp or Kichwa Tembo for your game drive on your way to the camp. You will stay at Bateleur Camp at Kichwa Tembo for both nights. Your lodging will be very luxurious in a furnished tent with a connected bathroom, you own butler as well as twin hand basins. You will have game drives at Masai Mara for the rest of your stay with morning and sunset game drives being conducted by professional safari guides and naturalists from this legendary camp in Masai Mara. Other extra activities like a day tour to Lake Victoria (Mfangano Island) or hot air balloon safaris in Masai Mara come with an extra charge.

Day 8

Departure to Nairobi

You will start the day with a game drive in the morning as well as breakfast before you move to the airstrip for your flight to Wilson airport. When you reach you will be taken to Jomo Kenyatta International airport so that you can get your flight back home. In case your flight is later in the day, you can book a day room so that you can rest and prepare to be taken to the airport. This will mark the end of our safari
